The Blue Fund - Invested in Meaningful Change
The Blue Fund hopes to push activist investing beyond turning a company around due to poor management. Now, the Blue Fund looks to invest in companies that contribute to Democratic causes.
From an email I just received from the Blue Fund: "More than 75% of the companies in the S&P 500 are net contributors to the Republican Party, resulting in a massive financial advantage for conservative candidates.* Now we have an alternative: we can invest in companies led by progressive leaders and progressive principles while continuing to offer the potential for financial returns."
The Calvert Fund tries to invest in socially responsible corporations, abstaining from those that involve liquor, tobacco, clear-cutting, etc. Now, the Blue Fund takes the niche a lot further by wearing partisan on their sleeve.
I look forward to seeing the conservative response to this (as I know there are some lesser-known "Sin" mutual funds already circulating about).
